THE DREAM HAS BEGUN!
The date was April 26, 2008. Brian Travis, a TBF angler from Conover, NC. And the North Carolina TBF Bass Federation had just finished weigh-in in at the 2008 Federation National Championship. Travis had just won the event, the $100,000.00 prize package; The cash, and TBF Living the Dream package that goes with it.

Condolences
The North Carolina Bass Federation would like to extend our condolences to Wayne Garhright, Owner of Riverbottom Lures, on the loss of his wife.
Wayne has been a great supporter of our Youth Program over the last several years. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The 2008 State Championship
The 2008 State Championship will be held on Lake Gaston. The Regional Directors will be mailing out entry forms to those who qualified.
Please read the entry forms carefully. August 1st is the deadline for these forms to be in the hands of the Tournament director, so you need to send them to your Regional by the date that he specifies. They MUST be in the possession of the Regional Director on this date. Failure to do so will result in you not being able to fish.

North Carolina Anglers Sweep Southern Divisional
Blythe Landing – Lake Norman
North Carolina has won its first Divisional Championship title in more than a decade! The team out fished the other competing states by a 34 pound and 2 ounce margin of victory with a total team weight of 247 pounds and 3 ounces.

2008 Southern Divisional, hosted by North Carolina Bass Federation
The 2008 Southern Divisional will be held on Lake Norman, June 11-13th. Seven States will be competing for the top honors. Weigh-ins will be held daily at 3 p.m. at Blythe Landing. Come out and support the North Carolina State Team.

State Youth Championship on Lake Norman
The North Carolina Bass Federation, Inc. will be holding the State Youth Championship on Lake Norman, Friday, June 13th. Blast off will be following the Adult departure. Weigh in will begin at 2 p.m. at Blythe Landing.
Come out and support our Youth. The FLW trailer will be used for the weigh in of our young anglers.

TRAVIS WINS THE HISTORIC BASS FEDERATION NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ON LAKE WYLIE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 26, 2008) Brian Travis of Conover, N.C., a 30-year-old supervisor for Southeastern Freight Line, is now Living the Dream after catching five bass weighing 14 pounds, 5 ounces on the final day of The Bass Federation National Championship presented by the National Guard Saturday on Lake Wylie. He captured the TBF National Championship title with a three-day total catch of 15 bass weighing 45 pounds, 9 ounces.

Thanks for making a tough tournament a success!! We all worked hard and got the job done.
I will be posting the results in the next few days. In the meantime the boater cut-off weight is 5.83 lbs., and the non-boater cut-off is 2.22 lbs. I will be sending each qualifier a letter out asking if they wish to participate at the State tournament at Lake Gaston in October. Please respond to these letters promptly.
